Another Lego game for batman and Lego fans to enjoy.

User Rating: 7.5 | LEGO Batman: The Videogame X360
I have always been a Lego fan since the Lego Star Wars series first appeared. I was never really into Star Wars, so the thought of the very characters being Lego's were very strange, but I picked up the controller and booted up my PS2 and I immediately grew attached to the game play. Years later I bought and Xbox 360 and when I saw this game sitting there for only $20 I just had to pick it up.

The story is simple, well there is really no story, except three chapters in which you work your way through, there is also a Hero side, and a Villain side. The more levels that you progress through than the more unlockables soon become yours ranging from different characters, vehicles, fun facts, and costume upgrades.

The game play is just like other Lego adventures. You use the characters available in the story mode to get through it. There are puzzles and also other things within the level to add to the overall replay value of the game. The characters in the game are somewhat unique overall, each can do different things to reach different locations within each level. The whole point of the game is to collect everything. Minikits and red bricks of course. There is also a money system referred to as "Studs" the more you have then the more you can afford to get. As for game play its pretty simple. Its basically platforming with some freedom, the levels are pretty linear but leave some room to explore along with subtle easter eggs left by the creators. Other than that you're pretty much getting what you pay for.

Some of the flaws in the game are minor but still there, I personally would have liked some more uniqueness with the characters along with a little more voice dialogue instead of the usual grunting.

The good news however is the wide variety of characters in the game. I feel as if they did a very good job branching out different characters, especially less popular characters such as "Killer Moth". More notable characters are "Mr.Freeze" or "The Joker" which were all very nice additions to the Lego family. The bad news is mainly the blandness and common similarities between characters.

This may be nitpicking but the jumping style of Batman is annoying at times, and it is somewhat easy to become confused in this game because of the lack of help systems or compass or even voice guidance.

My final thoughts...
Well if you are a Lego fan than definitely pick up this game, its fun and easy achievements if you have a 360. It is also co-op which means if you and a buddy wanna engage in Lego festivities than by all means. Even if you are a Batman fan it is quite enjoyable seeing all of the different characters in block-like; Lego action.

In conclusion, I give this game a 7.5, it has some potential, could have gone farther but is mostly a game for the younger kids and Lego fans.
