How does one improve on a classic? Add an advanced level editor, of course!

User Rating: 9 | LittleBigPlanet 2 PS3

The Good: Really fun story mode, charming characters, superb voice acting, powerups make levels more enjoyable, advanced level editor makes customization more fun, sweet online functionality, sweet controls, beautiful atmosphere, awesome music, fun final boss.

The Bad: Story mode is on the short side, tutorials could be a little bit more descriptive, camera can be a problem in multiplayer.

If you read my last review, you'll know that I love Little Big Planet. So when I so the level for Little Big Planet 2, I got excited. It looked so fun, containing an advanced level editor. So I got it, played it, and loved it.

In this game, you play as Sackboy once again. But this time, the lives of everyone is threatened by the Negativitron. It's up to you to defeat him and save the day. Okay, now onto the review.

The story mode is great. It's funny and creative. The characters are unique and charming and spout some really funny lines. It gives the game great character. It also has a really fun final boss, which I think is pretty underrated. The only problem with the story mode was that it's kind of short. Without dying, you can probably complete it in about 5 to 6 hours.

Like the last game, the presentation is amazing. Everything has color and life to it. The graphics are top notch. The music is excellent. The level design is creative. It's just good.

The voice acting is great. Every character has a distinct voice and personality. It makes them sound good and interesting as characters.

The game also has new things, like power ups. You can get cakeinators (guns that shoot cake), grappling hooks (a hook that can make you swing off things), grabinators (gloves that can make you grab dangerous objects), scuba gear (makes you breathe underwater), and the creatinator (a gun that makes you shoot anything out of it). They're really cool and bring variety to the levels.

The level creator has gotten bigger and better. With a whole lot of new tools to use, you can make platform games, shoot em ups, racing games, puzzle games, and even cutscenes. This is really cool and brings much more of a variety to your imagination. There are still tutorials voiced by an awesome British dude, but the tutorials aren't in depth and descriptive as they should be.

Like the last game, you can play these levels online, and also like the last game, the camera can be a problem. Sometimes, it can zoom back and make it hard to distinct Sackboys by each other. Sometimes, if someone gets behind, the camera will pan out, making it hard to move. It doesn't happen a lot, but it is noticeable.

Overall, this game is a lot of fun. It has so many good things about it, ranging from the controls to the atmosphere, that just make you want to keep playing. Please try this game out. It's a lot of fun and you won't regret it!
