Lords of the Fallen is a worthy game to play in the footsteps of the souls series...

Although the Demon Souls and Dark Souls are the superior games, Lords of the Fallen still packs a punch and has many of the same qualities of the game it tries so hard to be. I wouldn't call Lords of the Fallen a cheap rip off because it's not. Lords of the Fallen is an action/rpg set in a dark fantasy realm. Combat is difficult but not as difficult as the souls series. Combat is tight and you need some skill to defeat your enemies. Especially ones with giant shields in which you have to dodge, block and kick him away in order to get a back attack. The major differences I noticed with this game that the SOULS series didn't do was the ability for strong physical warriors to use some magic. It actually works out really well. I have a warrior with the ability to use rage, quake, prayer and ram!! All of which take up magic. I can also shoot a magic projectile, bomb or blast!! Magic is fun to use as a warrior because I'm a close range type of player but with magic I can shoot enemies from distance. Also, using ruins to discover new effects like fire, poison are fun to equip with magic to see your enemies burn and ect.. You can also equip runes to any armor or weapons an they have different effects depending on their placement. There are tons of secrets in this open world for you to discover. This game has more story and dialogue in it then the souls series and I found it kind of takes away from the mysteriousness but it's still alright. I like the music at the start screen but other then that I think they could of done a better job with the score. It's just a simple tune and kind of boring. The one major tweak I wish they would make with a sequel is the ability to fuse online play to their single player campaign similar to the souls series. Boss fights are very difficult and sometimes can take a lot of patience to beat and I think with a player boost it would add more fun to the over all gameplay. One other complaint I had was the level design is either really open or really tight and sometimes the camera gets stuck in the way of the action an you have to move it. Overall though I was very satisfied with Lords of the Fallen. With tons of enemies, armor an weapons to discover the game kept me going. The combat is very fun and difficult but not to the point of no return. I can't wait to play a sequel.

Overall:

Pros: Fun combat, cool armor and weapons, challenging and fun to play

Cons: Way too many glitches, no online support, not enough areas (2 main areas with sub-areas)
