Mario and Sonic's first Winter Games adventures turn out to be a good one!

User Rating: 8 | Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games DS

Following the success of the first Mario and Sonic title, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games was released in 2009 for the Nintendo DS and the Wii. I got this for DS at Christmas back in 2009.

Like the predecessor, this is a collection of Olympic events that you can take on as your preferred Mario/Sonic character. However, there is one notable mode in the DS version of the game, which is an Adventure Mode. This mode has you fighting to stop Bowser and Eggman ruining the Winter Olympics via melting all of the snow. It's a nice little mode to pass the time. I prefer this one over the other single-player mode on the Wii version.

The Winter events include Snowboarding, Figure Skating and Luge. Dream Events, however are different from the Wii version. The dream events here include Snowball Machine Fight, Rocket Ski Jumping and Dream Snowboarding. There is also a mode where you have a set amount of events hand-picked fir you. This is similar to the Circuit mode from the previous game.

This game also contains a multiplayer mode where you and 3 other people can compete in various events or circuits.

Overall, its a great sports game for the DS. If you have not played it yet, I suggest giving this one a go, should you feel the need to get your fill of the Olympic games on the go.
