Mario Party DS had some major improvements from Mario Party Advance.

Wow. Usually Mario Parties aren't that great for hand held systems, but Mario Party DS had some major improvements from Mario Party Advance for several reasons. First, you can play two to four players on several DS systems even if the other players don't have this game. The mulitplayer modes are still wireless, but you still have to be close to your friend/s. Second, they managed to have more of a character selection than the previous portable Mario Party Advance. There are not as many characters as in Mario Party 8, but there are still familiar characters like Mario, Luigi, and Peach etc.

Unfortunately, the graphics still aren't that great because some of the textures tended to be pixilated. Most of the textures turned out to be smooth. The character models could of looked better too because their outlines could of looked a bit more smooth.

I don't know how many mini-games are out there, but there seems to be a lot for Mario Party DS. Some of the mini-games were returned from the older Parties such as N64 and Game cube games. There's a great variety of mini-games and modes to play, but it still could have had Wi-Fi connection.

Presentation - 7 The story mode was strong, and the boards were pretty creative.

Graphics - 6 Some of the textures are smooth, but the others are kind of pixilated, and the character models need some work.

Sound - 8 The music was pretty good, but the characters are a bit repetitive still.

Game play - 8 Most of the mini-games are fun to play, but very few of them tend to get a bit confusing.

Lasting Approval - 7 There's a great variety of mini-games and modes to play, but it still could of had Wi-Fi connection. At least the multiplayer modes improved immensely. I still wouldn't play it by yourself that much because you could get bored easily.
