Medal of Honor's story is set in modern times, portraying the operations in Afghanistan. During the story, you switch between characters including a Navy SEAL, sniper, Ranger and Gunner. The game-play objectives mix up the action, since sometimes it's the usual FPS mechanics, but there are stealth based missions, and shooting targets whilst on board a helicopter.
The shooting mechanics are fine, although a bit on the easy side, and the alternative game-play additions detract from the action rather than improve it. The game is very linear and heavily scripted; which isn't a problem if that's what you expect. If you wanted a more open world game then you probably wouldn't look towards the Medal of Honor series.
The game lasts around 4 and half hours which is a bit disappointing when you think back about your gaming experiences. There's a fair amount of talking and cut-scenes, as well as driving sections with no action, or waiting around for the story to progress.
It's not a terrible game though, it's competent at what it does but won't amaze you. If you have played games like this before; then it's just more of the same. You have seen it done all before, just based on a different war.
