Enjoyed it more than the first one, but only a bit.

Warning: Spoilers

The main reason I thought this one was better was due to the fact it had cleaner graphics and looked crisper. This is probably due more to the fact the first game was a direct copy of the Playstation one game and this one was a remade version. The controls were better also as I found it easier to perform stealth in this one than the previous game. The story, like the first game, is so strange, compelling and just all over the place. It is definitely interesting that is for sure!

The story has Snake trying to take out the latest Metal Gear; however, it soon becomes apparent there is more going on as Ocelot is back and he hijacks this latest Metal Gear sinking the vessel it was stored on and framing Snake for it! Flash two years later and the president has been kidnapped and terrorist have taken over this rig that is supposedly for cleaning the water, but in reality is hiding a new Metal Gear! Enter Raiden who must try to save hostages, save the president and solve the many mysteries that keep coming up! He'll have to endure many strange soldiers as he must take on another of Snake's 'brothers' Solidus, Ocelot, a vampire dude, a woman who seemingly can't be killed and a host of others. Thankfully, he will find an ally in a man named Plisken who looks a lot and sounds a lot like a certain hero everyone is familiar with!

The controls are much better in this one thus the game play was more fun for me this go around. Raiden can do some rather cool tricks, but for the most part plays like Snake does. You have the same arsenal of weapons and gear and you have your boss fights that are interesting. Definitely a fun series of games so far.

So this game is really fun, but man the story just gets crazy there at the end and the ending was a bit disappointing as so little is actually resolved. Then it is almost funny how one bad guy is like, this is our real plan and then another comes along shortly thereafter and says, no this is the goal! This is the first time I've played these games and so far they've been great. Next up is Snake Eater!
