Fun, but online experience isn't too good.

I'm sorry, but I've always been very good at racing games, but I'm getting killed by the AI on normal. At the second racing series in career mode, I'm having to race a couple courses 10+ times to finish in the top three. I'll be in the top couple racers and something stupid will happen and I'll end up fourth or worse. Then, I'll have to listen to the in game commenters insult me. If that wasn't bad enough, then, I have to wait at least another 30 seconds for the level to load again. The game can be quit fun at times, but very frustrating at others.

The graphics and everything else seem very respectable. The customization is great and will provide many hours of entertainment. I would have given it a higher score if they weren't trying to be so overhanded in the difficulty level. There just seems to be to much going on at once. It's hard to try and drive and get at weapons/acceleration pads, plus monitor incoming weapons etc... The AI seems to never have difficulty aiming straight shooting weapons, which are quite hard for me to do while trying to drive etc...

Having said the previous, it's still a great game and should be highly recommended. The learning curve does seem to be somewhat high IMO, but I'm sure it will get better with experience.

This is being added to the review: After having played the game online a bit, I can say that the online experience is kind of a mess. You can wait up till 10 minutes to get the four people necessary to start an XP based race. There seem to be many server disconnects etc... I can't imagine that there are only a few people online within a 10 minute time frame, so the only logical conclusion is that they aren't seeding the races properly. They must be trying to start several at once, rather than just seed one and get it started and then move on to the next. This situation is almost unbearable. The races can be quite a bit of fun, but the nonsense surrounding them is inexcusable in my view.
