So bad it's funny.

Mortal Kombat Special Forces (MKSF) is MK's 2nd attempt at a spinoff. The first was Mythologies featuring Sub-Zero. That was mediocre. SF makes Mythologies look amazing.

The reason why they make these spinoffs is simple. The MK series has had an amazingly indept, detailed, enchanting story that never manages to bore me. And it's hard to capture that story in a fighting game. MK has enough story to be an RPG game. So they decided to expand the MK story by making these games. This game focuses around the character Jax and the Special Forces group.

Though instead of expanding the story it just leaves plotholes. SF takes place before MK1 and he has metal arms. In MK2 Jax has regular arms and doesn't receive metal arms until MK3 (Even the MK movie got this one right!!).

The action in this game blows...well not literally though. The game tries to use MK3 fighting engine but falls flat on its face. The gameplay is so bad, I get more enjoyment from listening to the Backstreet Boys. The camera angles make me want to cry. And the graphics, oh no, not the graphics. There not detailed, dull, not colorful or dark, flat, boring backgrounds. SF is not an attractive looking game.

Mortal Kombat Special Forces was $20 when it came out. You can probably find the game today in the bargain bins of some Wal-Mart. So the question is, should you buy this game? NO! Should you play this game? NO! This game was such a bad experience that I'm crying just writing about it.
