Minecraft PC passes 11 million sales
Mojang's open-ended sandbox game reaches new sales milestone.
The PC/Mac version of Minecraft crossed 11 million in life-to-date sales today--up from 10 million in April--propelling the franchise to all-new heights.
At $26.95 per copy, Minecraft for PC/Mac has now generated $296,450,000 in revenue.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition passed 10 million sales in May, while the downloadable Xbox 360 version crossed 6 million at the end of March.
The disc-based Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition launched earlier this month, and according to creator Markus "Notch" Persson, was the fastest selling console game in the United States last week.
Microsoft has described Minecraft as a "beast," and earlier this month, confirmed the game is coming to the Xbox One.
