Epic Games' upcoming shooter Gears of War: Judgment will not support the Kinect, design director Cliff Bleszinski at the Cary, North Carolina, studio told Games TM in a new interview. When asked if Judgment would make use of any ideas from the dead Gears of War: Exile project, Bleszinski chimed in about the Kinect.

“There are not a lot of things that wound up in there. There's one thing actually that you just reminded me of though, is that we are not supporting Kinect in Gears Judgment," he said. "I like Kinect, I've been a fan of it, but I don't think it has been fully realised as far as the potential of the device. Dance Central 3 looks great and all, but I'm curious how the 'core' games will work out."

Gears of War: Exile was a rumored Kinect game set in the Gears of War universe. Bleszinski confirmed in April that this project had been canceled, but did not elaborate further as to what it was.

Gears of War: Judgment is the first entry in the series since last year's trilogy-capping Gears of War 3. Developed by Epic Games in conjunction with Bulletstorm studio People Can Fly, the project focuses on series soldier Damon Baird and is due out sometime in early 2013.
