*Sigh... Another NHL game, another letdown.
The game's cover is misleading right off the bat. "NHL 11"
so then you think, oh yea, ill be able to play like in the NHL!
wrong. so wrong.
They should rename the franchise to "Ice Hockey" or "Arcade NHL"
because thats exactly what it is.
When you think of hockey, you think of people on skates with sticks hitting a puck. When you think of the NHL, you think of the millions watching, the thousands screaming in the seats, the high speed and emotion.
Emotion.
That what this game is missing.
Play be a pro mode, make it to your NHL team and make the playoffs, then win the Stanley Cup.
You will see then the complete lack of emotion this game has.
its so anti-climactic its depressing. I know the not many people would be happy that the bruins won the cup, but i sure would be.
The additions in this year's game are some good ones, most notable are the faceoffs, board play and the broken sticks.

How many NHL games are there? and we're just now getting some faceoff control and broken sticks!?

The crowd i have noticed is slightly improved, but not by much. The player benches and penalty box etc. are the same crap. I dont think it would really be that much of an issue to put each teams coach/assistant on the bench. but no, its the same one guy on every team.
There is only one ref.
The create a pro feature is the same as last year, the same faces to choose from, same equipment.
I would like to create my own goalie mask too, you know, like in the NHL.
I realize im nit picking but its the same sh*t every year. I love hockey. i absolutely live for hockey.
but this is sh*t.
I can go on about this game, but its already wasted enough of my time.
Gameplay is broken, fights are broken, animations are a JOKE, every team bench looks the same, and the crowd/stadium is just sad.
