{THE GOOD:}
Amazing graphics for the Wii. ● The minions are smarter then Pikmin. ● It's straight on fun being evil ● Stellar voice acting ● Suprisingly good controls. ● It's one of the funniest games I played on the Wii.
{THE BAD:}
The graphics just look terrible up close. ● You run out of mana way too quick. ● The bosses are really easy.

I exchanged one game because I bought it and got it double for christmas. I picked out two games. De Blob (I'll go review that in a while.), and Overlord: Dark Minions. Suprisingly, De Blob was 30.00$, and Overlord was only 5.00$. So I gave it a try.
The graphics are great, on the first look. The lighting effects in the throne room were just amazing. But, when the game closed up on one of the characters, it just disgusted me. But after the tutorial, which is messing up your brother's and sister's room, You get into a huge world to do stuff in. It's really cool how many minions can be on the screen at one time, and it does not slow down the game. The controls are pretty good too. Point at stuff, and press B, and the minions will go do stuff with it. Even though the minion that explains everything using a I-don't-care-what-it-is machine said the minions love not to use they're brain, they're suprisingly really smart. And controlling them is even smarter done. Pointing at the floor and pressing B makes them go there. If a box or something else is there, they'll smash it or open it. Pressing the minus button makes them wait on that spot. With this you can easily plan your attacks. Let some Red minions wait on a cliff by selecting the red minions on the D-pad, and let them attack by throwing fireballs. This goes really quick and feels good to control. The enemies you fight can be difficult at times. Especially the ones that shoot stuff. The minions can take it, but you should go run in circles or else they'll drain your energy. Of course you can send reds to go shoot at them, but most of the times there are two or more of them. The bosses are pretty easy though. Because there's mostly only one of em. Just send all your minions on it, spam your lightning spell, and he's dead. Later in the game they get harder, and do more damage though. A thing that I didn't like was that your mana runs out really quick. It's fun casting spells on things, but the mana spoils it because it gives a feeling your just waisting it. Also, you can buy stuff in the throne room. Thought the regular silver armour looked awesome? Think again. The gold one's awesome-er.
{OVERALL:}
I really enjoyed this game. It can be easy at times, but it never really gets frustraiting.
GRAPHICS: 7/10
It's hard to say anything about it. Everything looks outstanding, the monster models are awesome. Only like 70% character models are TERRIBLE. The chef looks like a zombie boomer. But thankfully, your character looks awesome. And so does the armour.
MUSIC: 8/10
Not much of it, but the voice-acting is great. And when there's voice-acting, it better be good.
CONTROLS: 8/10
Much thoughts have been put in the controls. The point and click mechanics work awesome. Ordering around the minions works great.
GAMEPLAY: 9/10
It's just awesome to be evil. And that's why playing this game feels great.
PRESENTATION: 9/10
The menu's look good. The minceclopedia gives the game a HUGE feeling, which it already is.
