Two weeks after word first leaked of its existence, Call of Duty: United Offensive has been officially announced. Activision unwrapped the expansion pack to its uberpopular WWII shooter Call of Duty, which will have more than 10 all-new maps. The maps will be based on some of the most intense and pivotal clashes of World War II, including the Battle of the Bulge, Kursk, and the invasion of Sicily.

In addition to the new levels, United Offensive will sport three new multiplayer modes, including tank battle and capture the flag. The game will also feature a domination mode where players must seize and hold key locations against waves of enemy troops.

While the original Call of Duty was developed by the Activision-owned Infinity Ward, Gray Matter Interactive Studios is working on United Offensive. The expansion pack is scheduled for a fall 2004 release, and its rating is still pending.
