I can't believe that I'm only now reviewing these great games! Perhaps no other video games in recent memory, have managed to be as enjoyable, as innovative, and as captivating as the "Pokemon" remakes of "Gold" and "Silver." Not only can you catch all of the original 250 Pokemon originally available in these games; but after you beat the Elite Four at least once, hidden Pokemon from the Hoenn and Sinnoh regions will become available to catch, but they are well hidden! You will have to use tricks, like using certain radio tunes to draw certain Pokemon out at certain times in certain areas, or listening to see if there is a mass out-break of a certain, and otherwise unobtainable Pokemon. That makes this game worth owning alone; but what makes this game REALLY worth playing, is an inclusion of the Pokeathalon! Using the stylus, you can play with three Pokemon at the same time, in different athletic events. These events are divided into five different categories, of speed, strength, skill, stamina, and jumping. Each Pokemon has their own stats, which can be raised (and sometimes, unintentionally) lowered, by using something called Aprijuice, made from the collectible Apricorns. By blending up to five Apricorns at a time, you can create juice that raises either one, or a bunch of these stats all at once! Playing the Pokeathalon is not only fun, it's good for earning bragging rights, as well as points that can help you redeem rare items, such as the previously find-only item of PP Up, which is VERY useful for raising the power points of your Pokemon moves! These two games are absolutely STELLAR games to own on either the Nintendo DS, or the Nintendo 3DS! And I highly recommend playing these games if you haven't already!
