If dark and creepy is what your going for than this is the BEST shooter in town. If blasting zombies who throw gore at you this is the Best shooter for you. Or if you like busting through doors and spamming grenades this is Quake. Very oldschool but worth it. Here is a list of bad things.
-No free look
-Hard to swim
-Lightning gun has basically no ammo
Now lets look at the good stuff.
-Large variety of guns
-Good monster AI
-Nice environments
-3d graphics
-Quad Damage (Oh Yeah!)
-Cool HUD
-No lag
-32 levels
-4 episodes
-Smooth Gameplay
-And an awesome Final Level
-The Best Music
Now compare. This game just blows your mind. Personally I think Quake 3 and 4 suck. That ruined the series. Quake is still a great game and see the 2 bad things well if you get the darkplaces mod you can free look which makes swimming way easier. So nothing is really bad about this game unless you play it on the N64. That sucks because the controls are way to hard. I hope someone ports Quake to the Xbox 360 that would rock. If you are thinking of getting this game stop thinking and buy it.
