A Solid Resident Evil title but no masterpiece

User Rating: 7 | Resident Evil: Revelations 2 (Deluxe Edition) PS3
Resident Evil is a weird franchise it has some masterpieces like RE2 and 4 being massive fan favourites and some poor ones like RE6 where does this one rank. The story is played in Episodes where you play as Claire and Moira for one section looking for a way out and Barry and Natalia for another section. The gameplay mainly focuses on the style of RE4 with its over the shoulder view and also the fear factor from the old school titles. The game let's you play as all 4 the supporting characters like Moira can flash a light to spot near by items and Natalia can see invisible enemies. Most of the enemies aren't hard and take a few hits to drop. Also it seems as though each area follows a certain structure. A puzzle and then a boss at the end of each area. The lack of any original enemies and also that some of the sections in the game are bland and uninspiring not really adding to the atmosphere. The characters dialogue and look are pretty off putting as well. While there is added content and upgrades the game is pretty uninspiring and lacks any real meaning to go back again. Overall a lacklustre title making it another RE title that isn't worth anymore than one playthrough Overall Opinion 7 out 10
