Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a RESIDENT EVIL game with new storyline using classic characters like Barry and Claire Redfield on a JOURNEY about ESCAPING an ISLAND. I gave it a 6 but that does NOT mean this is a BAD game at all. It's just not up to par with a PLAYSTATION 4 game. I bought all 4 expansions as a Halloween special. You take turns intertwining the story playing as BARRY with a little girl partner and then CLAIRE with a lady friend partner. The A.I. controlling the partners are dumb and never once actually helped me in any situation. The only good thing about it is that your dumb AI controlled ally will never die on you.. that's the main thing I was worried about. Well, I shouldn't say NEVER but they made it so they heal quicker so you can focus on playing the game like a single player game. The graphics are BLAND and there are no crazy visuals to be seen in RESIDENT EVIL: REVALATIONS 2. The monsters are uninspired and unoriginal. The DUMBEST thing in this game.. made me think this game was made by a bunch of ROOKIE designers was the most ANNOYING INVISIBLE MONSTERS. You almost have to laugh at how stupid this concept is. It's not fun, it's boring. You use your partner to 'sense' the flying invisible idiot then you switch back and try to figure out where it is and shoot it. Invisible monsters is just so pathetic and idiotic I can go on and on about how dumb the idea is but if you play it you'll realize it yourself.
The storyline is simple in RESIDENT EVIL: REVALATIONS 2 which I actually thought was a good thing. This enables you to pick up and play the episodes and not have to worry that you forgot a crucial piece of the story. You're on an island filled with zombies, there is a mysterious women behind this and you must find out what's going on and escape at the same time. Blasting zombies and the nostalgia are the 2 main factors that kept me playing. It's fun to do. You get to upgrade 4 equipped weapons and mix cocktails to create firebombs and stuff which makes playing this game exciting. The boss battles are fun to take down also... Plus, I do like CLAIRE and BARRY they are actually my FAVORITE CHARACTERS from the RE series!!! The PUZZLES in this game are classic RE simple but effective to get to one are to the next. This game tries to implement a little bit of stealth also which doesn't completely fail, because if you do sneak up behind an enemy you can get a 1 hit kill which is really fun to pull off.
I know I've said a lot of negative things about RESIDENT EVIL: REVALATIONS 2 but it is a fun game to download and play when you want to take a break from a AAA game. you can pick up and play it, blast a few zombies and get to the next area and quit and then come back and progress even further. There are 4 chapters with 2 additions and I would recommend getting all of them and just dealing with the setbacks because I have to admit.. RESIDENT EVIL: REVALATIONS 2 is BETTER then some of the higher budget RESIDENT EVIL games to come out on PS3 in the last couple years. This game reminds of me RESIDENT EVIL 1 except on an island!
