Overall, fun game to consume a couple of hours into, but a lot more could have been done before it's release!

Time could have been better managed when it came to Risen. The combat system is very basic your combo's and attacks are very limited to where you place your joy stick and considering that every battle you face your opponent spends most of it's time blocking your attack or backing up, frustration seems to set in very quickly. Overall nothing really new came with the game, I found the same old aspects that was in the original Gothic. (released March 15, 2001) Visual graphics of the game were pretty amazing, landscape and detail was well spent in the creation time. Quests were what made the game for me, instead of doing the same repetitive quests over and over again until it ultimately leaded to the end game. Risen gave you a complex list of choices, scenario's and situations that each quest could ultimately lead to. Now the story line, I like how the game imbeded Greek mythology and Titan lore into it's world, you take on a life of a person that actually gets to see and experience a world our ancestor's could only begin to dream about. But the overall experience your character gets from the influence of these lords of the elements is very limited. My belief is more could have been done, but either way it goes if your looking for a game to play while waiting for the next Fable, give this game a look but rent before you buy.
