Saints Row IV is wacky and fun, but gets stale pretty quickly.

User Rating: 7 | Saints Row IV (Collector's Edition) PC

I like Saints Row IV. It has a plethora of fun and wacky weapons, a childish but hilarious sense of humor, awesome customization (but still not as good as saints row 2, which was released way before saints row 4) and a pretty decent soundtrack (the craziness of the soundtrack matches the game nicely) so here's an overview:

Graphics: 7.5/10

They're alright. The PS3 and 360 versions look pretty much identical to the PC, PS4 and XONE versions so it really doesn't matter what version you pick for graphics. The PC version can be enhanced with mods though, so that gives it a bit of an edge. The frame rate can sometimes drop a bit, but it's certainly not the only game with a choppy frame rate. The character models are generally pretty nice though (dem jiggle physics tho)

Soundtrack: 8/10

The soundtrack isn't exactly full of incredible hits, but the variety and wackiness of the tunes is amazing. It varies from classical music, to some kind of strange Jamaican music. It's catchy anyway. The radio stations can be played from inside your vehicle, or even better, outside of your vehicle, where you can run around jumping off buildings whilst listening to Beethoven. Count me in!

Customization: 8/10

There are a few different shops available to choose from, that sell different clothing, fit for your own tastes. There's Planet Zin (Basically Planet Saints from the old games) that sells general clothes and is best for the gangster stuff, there's Let's Pretend, a colorful clothes shop full of fancy-dress clothes like animals or zombies. Fun for the people who want to role play. Then there's Nobody Loves Me, a shop that sells emo clothes. It's OK i guess. All these clothes can be color changed. The character customization when you start the game has tons of options, not to mention a boob slider. A BOOB SLIDER!

Story Line: 6/10

It's deliberately cheesy and full of movie references, but that doesn't hide the fact that the story is, in reality, pretty awful. Sure, there's some funny moments here and there, but it's very mediocre. The start of the game is pretty awesome, with your character driving a spaceship around when suddenly, 'what is love' starts playing and your character shouts out "this is my jam!". The story is really meant as a fan service for the rest of the series, so long time saints row fanboys/girls will love the story. The re-appearance of Johnny Gat is great too.

Characters: 7/10

OK, the characters aren't very like-able. In fact, they're complete assholes. But, despite that, they're personalities are always funny and add that bit of charm to the game. Kinzie lecturing you in the simulation or Johnny Gat totally confused about what the f**k Professor 'Genki's Super Ethical Reality Climax!' is and just being a complete bad ass.
