Some odd voice acting and puzzles make Secret Files 2 a little less than stellar.

I quite liked Secret Files Tunguska -- good characters, some interesting puzzles, characters, and locations, and a nice dark feel throughout. Secret Files 2 has some of those elements, but does some other things a little strangely, and ruins the atmosphere.

The game is very straight-up point-and-click adventuring. The story is somewhat cliche for the genre -- a conspiracy on a world-wide scale led by a mysterious faction of (seemingly) religious fanatics, and our characters end up smack in the middle of it all.

The good:
* Story moves along at a nice pace
* Quite a few characters to interact with in several areas, which adds life to those spots.
* Some clever puzzles
* Very nice looking graphics

The not-so-good:
* Like most games of this type, some pretty obtuse puzzles and some much-too-easy-yet-still-tedious puzzles
* Voice acting is very uneven, and unfortunately the protagonists are two of the worst.
* Some odd language in the game -- people speak with American accents, but clearly use British terminology. (Yes, a minor and probably stupid thing to complain about...)
* The graphics look great, but character animations slow the pacing down -- e.g. when the protagonist is walking about, when they change directions, the animation to do so is awkward and slow -- it makes the whole experience a little sluggish.

Overall, it's a solid adventure, and for those that truly love this genre, you'll be happy. But if you've tired of the more formulaic adventure games, you might bore of this one quickly.
