So much wasted potential

User Rating: 6.5 | Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution PS3
This is my first review so bear with me.

If you played any of the Civilizations on the PC you might be disappointed. This is a watered down version that is meant to have a completed game within a couple of hours. You don't really want to play a multiplayer game for a week do you?

If you have never played a civ game before this can be quite fun. There are 4 different levels of difficulty and it is a great way to learn the game on the easy levels. There are a good number of civs to chose from and they each have their own strenghts/weaknesses. It's fun to grow your cities, declare war, build great wonders and expand. I have owned this game for over a year and now beating the AI on the hardest level isn't a challenge anymore. It was fun when I wasn't good though. The real fun in this game is competing with human players. Matching wits against other people. This is also the MAJOR downfall of this game. When( and I stress when) the multiplayer works the game is an absolute blast and completely addicting. Humans are so much more fun to play against. You can go head to head against a person or a Free For ALL. 4 players playing against each other, which is the funnest. Unfortunately the Free For ALL games freezes FAR FAR to often. No word of a lie it freezes 25-30% of the time I play it. People can freeze it on purpose or you can freeze it by accident. It drives me absolutely nuts. This is a well known problem in the civ community. If this game played the way it should I would give it a 9/10. Unfortunately this is not the case. Too many glitches/bugs really brought down my score. All in all....So much wasted potential
