You know how in Mario Kart all the power-ups make getting a fraction of a second out of the best lines pointless, but are what the game is all about? Think Mario Kart in terms of gameplay, add eye candy, and there's seriously no reason not to play this game. It's kinda cheap that you can't use your gamepad to navigate the menus, and that going back from a menu requires a different key depending on where you are (and pressing the right key in the wrong screen might drop you back into a race you've already finished), but the fun you get out of it is cheap too.

I personally didn't like the helicopter or lorry tracks, but the points system does give you a bit of versatility in choosing what races you want to keep replaying until you get the best results. You can go more for tough cars and lots of wrecks or fast cars and staying out of trouble, and that results in some fun rivalry with other types of cars on the track (like Koopa vs Yoshi in Mario Kart).
