This game was everything I thought it would be, plus a little bit more to keep me happy.

When I talk about the games I started gaming with, the conversation usually winds down to that same stale chowder of Zelda, Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Etc.... You know, the "old school" Nintendo rhetoric of us twenty-something hardcore console gamers.... Don't get me wrong, I love them, I even rock a Tri-Force tattoo, but I only cut my teeth on those games. I really came into my own on games like Snowboard kids, or Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, something that became a staple of my game collection, then after I burned out on the genre, I put it down entirely, only to rediscover it with SSX. I started playing the demo, and my hands started to move in those familiar patterns, my left thumb started doing narrow little "s" curves, my right tapping out combos, and for about 2 minutes, I was 16 again, gearing up for my weekend marathon.
As you can see, my review is painted by nostalgia, but this game has taken everything I used to enjoy, and mixed great online aspects that only this generation can provide. I definitely say one should pick up this game, even if you wait to buy it pre-owned.
