Plat-forming perfection. Super Meat Boy even edges the 2D Super Mario series.

Super Meat Boy is possibly the definition of a superb plat-former that does everything right. It's like a retro throw back, and doesn't let go.

Aesthetically, SMB is utterly fantastic, from the menu's to the art design it is superb, Each world has it's own distinct feel and look, and each level has been well thought out and designed well. With over 120 levels and nearly 5 free Add-on packs, its makes itself a worth while purchase.

I quite enjoyed how Super Meat Boy doesn't take itself seriously, it has funny flash-like animations between bosses or World chapters, and even has mini-warp levels that either go into a Game-Boy era like stage or offer a SNES style level. Even better each world has a 'Dark world variant', which is the same levels as the normal world, yet harder and more challenging. The learning curve is perfect, starting out as simple levels, eventually ending up as a hard as nail's challenge.

I would seriously recommend Super Meat Boy to anyone, regardless if they are fan's of Plat-formers or not. If you do purchase it, prepare to die a lot and lose a great deal of your soul. ;)

The Good:
Great presentation that plays upon other platformers
Morbidly funny style
Funny cutscenes
Large amount of levels
Challenging
Perfect learning curve
Free DLC

The Bad:
Can't share replays
It's not getting a sequel apparently...
