Super Metroid is the best Metroid game in the series

User Rating: 10 | Super Metroid (Players Choice) SNES

Super Metroid is the third game to be released on the Super Nintendo in 1994. The game starts with bounty hunter Samus Aran summarizing the events of the previous two games Metroid for the NES defeating Kraid, Ridley and Mother Brain and Metroid 2: The Return of Samus where a baby Metroid following Samus like she was its mother. Samus finds out that the baby Metroid was taken by Ridley and she's on a mission to it. Super Metroid, like the two Metroid games, is exploration and there is a lot to explore because Zebes is huge. You will find items that will help you explore further into the game. There are different types of enemies to fight and the main bosses are Kraid, Phaantoon, Draygon, Ridley and Mother Brain.

The graphics and level design are the best of any Super Nintendo game that I have ever played and they have aged well. The controls are excellent as well because of the different you can use and they are helpful. Super Metroid has one of the best soundtracks, if not the best soundtrack, on the Super Nintendo. This game have set the standard for the other Metroid games that came after it and it influenced the Konami game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for PS 1 that a genre called 'Metroidvania' after that games' release. Super Metroid is the best Metroid game in the series and one of the best games of all time.
