Bargain Bin Buyers Beware!! There is nothing Super about this Monkey Ball!!

I’ve owned a Game Cube for years and never bought this game until recently since I was able to pick it up cheap and it looked like it might provide a few fun hours of silliness on a rainy day. It doesn’t. Trust me, this game is deceptively difficult. I was hoping to find a variety of puzzles for my little monkey to roll through; instead it ended up being too easy at first and then suddenly way too hard. I say, “too hard” because early in the game (in the normal mode) you are presented with rolling your ball along very narrow spaces which have deadly precipices on either side. I can’t tell you how many times I fell off those stupid things! It was so frustrating I had to stop playing and to be honest, I’m going to go back to the store I bought it from and try to exchange it for another game (I lost the receipt, you see. No telling if they’ll let me.). Now, before all you people who love this game get angry with me – let’s just accept when it come to this particular game, we should agree to disagree. The fact is, there are some of us who like the challenge of squeaking a ball along a narrow ledge and some of us who don’t. If you are like me and find it to be incredibly frustrating to fall off a tiny, precipitous ledge again and again and again – don’t play this game. Therefore, my precipice-hating friends, beware of monkeys rolling in balls. They tend to gravitate toward tiny spaces with many, many holes. And if you were thinking this game would be more about puzzle solving or franticly fast rolling, it’s not. It’s all about precarious balancing at best and perpetual plummeting at worst.
