Following the book instead of the films, this game is the best adaptation from a literary viewpoint. It may be lacking a bit in gameplay, but the opportunity to explore areas and meet characters not available in other games should overcome the game's weaknesses for any Lord of the Rings fan.
This version has the best graphics and a little extra stuff to do, so I'd choose this over the other versions.
