The Sims 2 Castaway is a fresh, fun addition to the series but is let down with technical problems.

User Rating: 6.5 | The Sims 2: Castaway PS2
The Sims 2 Castaway is a new addition to the series and is a lot more different to other Sims games. It is very creative and fun to play but is let down by slow loading times e.g. when you go to your inventory, it feels like the PS2 struggles to gather all of the information needed.

Story-- You and your fellow crew members are having a party on a yaucht when suddenly a storm erupts and sends you all over-board. You wake up on a beach with no one else around so you decide to look after yourself first.

Aim of the game-- Complete enough goals and find the other crew members so you can get off the island somehow.

Good Points-- A lot more freedom than other Sims games for the PS2 console. It is very vibrant and fresh and is fun to play. You can do a lot of things, from creating new clothes to creating new tools to befriending a monkey.

Bad Points-- Loading times are far too long and can ruin the gameplay. The graphics could have been better. And when the sound goes all high-pitched when you fast-forward time is really annoying. Collecting materials can get a bit boring.

Overall, I would recommend this game to people as a rent but I wouldn't recommend you buy this game. If you prefer buying I would recommend you buy the Wii version instead as there are no loading problems.
