I was expecting so much more out of this game. I kind of wish I could return the game.
The character customization kind of sucks. When scrolling through lists of items (apparel, clubs, hair styles, etc.), everything is jumbled together to the point that I don't even bother with the customization process.
When playing against AI opponents, you don't have enough control over the game. I want to hit my shot, and then skip watching my opponent hit because I can see where his ball landed on the minimap. But you can't skip the AI shots, which makes the game take WAY longer.
There is no real benefit to upgrading equipment aside from the way different items look, it's all cosmetic! What a waste of time! Why bother implementing money into the game when there's nothing useful to spend it on!
When actually playing golf, not enough control is given to the user when it comes to viewing the entire map and doing fly-bys to see the whole course. The only options to see the entire map only give brief looks at the course, so it's sometimes difficult to decide where to hit.
