I was at first very critical about Titanfall. I missed a few features:
a) Customization. I would love to have more weapons and I would love even more to fully customize my titan. It would be cool to have my own insignia on my mech.
b) More epic battles and better modes. The attrition fights are over way too soon.
c) More variation in map design. I guess I got too used to BF4 and levolution.
d) A decent campaign. Quite frankly, no campaign at all would be better than the mess we have now.
For all these reason I did not reward Titanfall with more than 7.
After having spent about 30 hours in the game I must admit that the game is growing on me. All the deficiencies above are still true (well, Respawn has actually done something about the length of attrition matches) but the core game is so good and so fun that I now think that the game deserves at least an 8.
Much of Titanfall's long term success will depend on the future choices of its developers. I hope that Respawn will let us personalize at least the colors of our titans and that more (and better) modes will be added to the game. Titanfall would then have a permanent spot on my HD.
