Check out this exclusive gameplay video for Rogue Lords, a new horror-themed tactics-RPG starring supernatural monsters from urban legends and classic horror fiction.

The upcoming Rogue Lords takes a drastically different approach to the familiar conceit of the dark fantasy RPG. Instead of playing as a band of adventurers and wizards fighting demons and other fantasy creatures, the roles are reversed, with you commanding as a party of monsters and supernatural beasts inspired by classic horror stories and urban legends. As an equal parts roguelike and tactics RPG, Rogue Lords from developer Cyanide Studios handles the dungeon-crawling gameplay with a bit more flair and unpredictability.

In this exclusive video, the developers of Rogue Lords offer a deep dive into the game's combat mechanics and disciple gameplay. Before starting a new run through the campaign, players get to pick three characters to form their party of death-dealing revenants planning to strike at the mortal realm. These various disciples include the vampire lord himself, Dracula, Bloody Mary, the Headless Horseman, and Dr. Frankenstein and his hulking creation. Each with unique abilities and backgrounds, how you build your party will influence their synergies, and what sort of buffs you can get as a squad.

As you battle through the campaign, you will be able to upgrade your squad's abilities and powers to boost their performance in upcoming battles. In addition to keeping your attributes in top form, you will also need to ensure that they're able to last the extensive campaign. Along with managing health, you will also need to keep an eye out for odd status effects that can impair your squad's abilities.
