The Witcher author and game developer CD Projekt Red have resolved their legal dispute. In 2018, author Andrzej Sapkowski filed a legal demand against game developer CD Projekt Red, asking for £12.4 million, claiming the initial compensation for the rights to his works was too little given the success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the rest of the games series on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The two parties have since come to an agreement.
