An underrated game and a surprisingly fun shooter
The Mime powers are surprisingly easy to use, tactical and enjoyable, providing a sort of nightvision ability with (eventually) three different ways of utilizing them (slow down, shield, and empower).
A really nice touch is the ability to upgrade your weapons at black market houses along the way, any way you choose, and thus gives you incentive to search around each level/room to find those little bags of money - taking you back to the classic days of PC shooters that used such a simple device so often.
The game just gets better and better as you move along, with a mix of tight-quarter and outdoor action. The graphics are decent, but nothing special, yet they reflect the era and feel of WWII era Germany perfectly, along with a dark, underworld feel that is consistent with the storyline of the Nazi's developing and looking for ancient occult magic.
If you're looking for a vanila "COD" WII experience, this isn't it, if you're looking for a classic, story-based action game with some light RPG elements that take you back to the classic shooters from earlier in the decade (i.e. No One Lives Forever, Medal Of Honor, a little Deus Ex, et al..,) then you will find this game very enjoyable.
