Now, this game is just re-hash of of WWE 12 & WWE13 w/ lots of cool little minor tweet.But it's the little things,that go a long way.To me,in order to have fun in a wrestling game,one key factor is you need a good roster with NO fake custom Create - a - wrestlers(CAWS)....This game has Modern wrestlers from WWE,Some NWO and WCW guys,and some old school wrestlers from WWF.(DLC is a must).I use a little of each era and do a great universe.
Performing finishers in this game can be satisfying now that they added the "flattened like a pancake" animation after you get destroyed by a move.Little things like doing an Attitude Adjustment to Yokozuna & Andre the Giant at the same time,to playing a Royal Rumble and seeing all of your custom threads for superstars come out randomly,to changing your menu music as you are spectating community creations is just awesome.i have added the wcw nitro music for a custom soundtrack as well.Cool!
The gameplay can feel clunky,but it works and it's still fun.Combined with moves like OMG moments,catch finishers,etc,WWE2k14 is a fun game.If you are not a wrestling fan,it may be hard to convince you this is not WWE 13.But,if you are a fan,you know that WWE2k14 is just a better must have game.Beat the Streak is like a Horde mode like Gears of War.Or like Zombies from COD....it's just an extra feature that adds to replay value and it's something to do and is fun and challenging.
3o years of WrestleMania can be tedious i'm assuming since I did not do every requriment to get all the unlocks ,but , rather just rushed through the matches which were challenging.But definatley not the selling point for me anyway.I think the Roster in the game is the Best in wrestling game ever.Guys like Steamboat,Ultimate Warrior,to Goldberg and Kevin Nash ,to Ryback and the Sheild make this game worth playing.Playing as a good wrestler like Steamboat makes you feel like steamboat.But if your Andre the Giant,you feel like Andre the Giant.Just know You are not going to be running around with Andre.
The wrestlers models are done very well with the exception of Roman Reighns which is still passable.But,you still feel like Roman Reighns when you throw someone into the air and spear him in mid air.Guess what i'm saying is,the game is not perfect,but I had to get this game cause of the Roster.i am in to Modern wrestling,but I don't like a lot of the wrestlers,but there are about 18 -20 guys i'll have in my universe from the modern era.The rest will be old school wwf guys as well as Now/wcw guys.if you open your eyes,you can have a great game here.i am so happy with this game
