With many big movies announced far in advance, it often feels as if we're waiting an eternity to watch them. But now a new film from Sin City director Robert Rodriguez has taken that to a ridiculous degree--it won't see a release until the year 2115. Titled 100 Years, the film stars John Malkovich. Check out this promo for more details:

According to IO9, the movie was financed by Louis XIII Cognac, a luxury liquor that is aged 100 years. The company approached Malkovich to develop a concept for the film. While the full details will remain a mystery until 2115, it has been revealed that the film is set in present and, according to Rodriguez, will be "emotionally charged."

Three promos for both the cognac and the film have been produced. These don't contain any footage from the movie itself, but they can be watched here, here, and here.

Malkovich did provide a few details about these teasers. "There were several options when the project was first presented of what [the future] would be," he said. "An incredibly high tech, beyond computerized version of the world, a post-Chernoybl, back to nature, semi-collapsed civilization, and then there was a retro future which was how the future was imagined in science fiction of the 1940s or '50s."

To ensure that no one sees 100 Years before its official release date, the movie has been placed into a time-locked safe. Check back with GameSpot in 2115 for a full report on what this safe contains.
