If you're in the market for an Xbox Series S, the good news is that you can grab either the standard entry-level model or its beefier version at a substantial discount through Target and Dell at nice discounts.

With the newer Xbox Series S sporting a Carbon Black finish, you're getting a console with 1TB of internal storage and a matching wireless controller. In comparison, the regular model has a white finish, controller, and 512GB of storage capacity. Beyond those differences, both consoles are functionally the same, as they're geared more towards providing the best 1080p and 1440p experiences with their hardware.

This makes them ideal when you're planning to play games on a regular high-definition TV or PC gaming monitor, and if a game is available on Xbox Series X, it'll work just fine on these machines as well. Like the Xbox Series X, you'll also see drastically reduced load times for games. The handy Quick Resume function allows you to suspend your progress in multiple titles simultaneously and switch between them on the fly.

Though the 512GB Xbox Series S will fill up faster, especially with your included Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription that grants access to hundreds of games, the Series S Starter Bundle is undoubtedly the better deal. You can even turn your 512GB Series S into a 1TB model by purchasing this Western Digital 512GB Expansion Card for $80. Thanks to three months of Game Pass Ultimate being included (a $45 value), the Starter Bundle winds up as the better deal even if you buy the WD Black Expansion Card, too.

Thanks to the console's portable size, it's also great for taking on the road with you and there's a solid library of first and third-party games to install on it. You can even buy an attachable monitor that makes the Series S an all-in-one machine for gaming while away from home.
