Axiom Verge 2 is a Metroidvania just like the first game. While the first game felt fresh and new, the 2nd game feels like more of the same. They didn't do enough to really stand out from the first game. Exact same graphic style, similar map size and power upgrades. Yes, you go into portals that lead to another map overlapping the main map, but it's not that cool. It's just tunnels after tunnels and minor secrets here and there. There is still some fun to be had here which is why I gave it a 6 score, 'fair' is a good score for this game. I beat it in under 10 hours. Explored most of everything and the end scene was kind of a letdown. I just hope if they make a part 3 they really hone in on depth and structure.
