Hook

Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom/Shadow over Mystara

Perfect Dark

Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers 2

Timesplitters 2

Snake, rattle and roll

X-men Arcade

Simpsons Arcade

Which ones are yours?

I didn't really care for Perfect Dark's co-op, but the multiplayer (non-story with maps and weapon selection) was phenomenal :) I had so many couch parties in college with that game.

I really enjoyed Neverwinter Nights co-op myself.

@zyxe: so much praise is given to Goldeneyes multiplayer but Perfect Darks is ultra fun chaos especially with added AI. So much going on, so many awesome creative weapons, so many options. love it.

I'd have to toss Contra 1 and Super C in there, along with Contra 3 that was already mentioned.

Kirby superstar on the snes. Lots of co-op fun. Kid friendly as well if an adult plays Kirby.

If you're looking for relationship poison you could try Battle Toads on the NES.

This was going to be my answer. Co-op RPGs were never really a thing, still isn't except for MMOs which go to another extreme, but Secret of Mana was legitimately good, and fun with 3 people.

And this would be my other choice. Great game. I think best played on the Genesis.

Oh easy, Halo CE and 2. Even with split screen, it hilariously fun to play couch co-op. Trivial Pursuit in its various forms over the past few gens is fun too.

Starsky and Hutch was fun back in the day. One player drove the car and the other shot the bad guys with either a controller or a light gun. I remember having a lot of fun with that one.

Board games turned into videogames are often overlooked, but they can be a lot of fun with friends and it’s a great equalizer if your friend isn’t as skilled at you at gaming.
