Former senior members of both Naughty Dog and Blizzard Entertainment have today announced the formation of a new console game development company, Ready At Dawn Studios. The cofounders of the new studio include former Naughty Dog senior programmer Didier Malenfant, former Blizzard senior software engineer Andrea Pessino, and former Blizzard senior artist Ru Weerasuriya.

"The opportunity was too good to pass up," said Didier Malenfant, president and cofounder, "to get a chance to assemble a team composed of some of the most talented people in the industry, dedicated to pushing the limits of every game or platform we work on."

"The interest we've already generated in the industry has been incredible," added Andrea Pessino, technical director and cofounder, "and goes to show that, at the end of the day, it's still about the individuals behind the games and their ability to deliver and turn solid concepts into successful titles."

Between them, the three cofounders of Ready At Dawn Studios have more than 35 years of game development experience and have worked on such titles as Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, Diablo II, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, World of Warcraft, Starcraft: Brood War, and Starcraft: Ghost. The California-based company is currently working on its first, as-yet-unannounced title and is actively hiring for the few remaining spots on its small team.

We'll bring you more information on Ready At Dawn's first game as soon as it becomes available.
