It has been almost 20 years since Yu Suzuki's original After Burner wowed gamers with its then state-of-the-art graphics and frantic gameplay, and about six years since Sega Strike Fighter, the most recent installment in the After Burner franchise. According to Japanese news outlet ITmedia, Sega put After Burner Climax, the latest installment in this series, into Japanese arcades today. The basic arcade configuration consists of two side-by-side consoles linked together for cooperative play. Selectable aircraft include the F-14D Super Tomcat, F-15E Strike Eagle, and F/A-18E Super Hornet. The game also has a new attack, called "climax mode," which lets the player attack multiple enemies at the same time.
