Fun medieval era of Command & Conquer!

User Rating: 8 | Age of Mythology PC
A lot of people compared Warcraft with Command & Conquer series, but along came Age of Empires and finally an even more worthy counterpart, Age of Mythology. The innovative building tech tree and variety of units enhances the overall tactical strategy gameplay in a medieval era. But the coolest feature here would be the God powers, especially the wrath ones. Nothing beats watching a Meteor Storm clearing half the enemy base for you while your balistas do the rest. However, it can be very tedious to build up to the certain age and the right God to enable such rare powers that you only tend to cast a few times throughout the campaign, so this game demands quite a lot of patience this way.

The cutscene story and dialogue can be ironically cheesy and street-humor at times, but there's nothing to complain as long as there're things to kill and destroy the next stage. The soundtrack has a hint of Buddha-Bar lounge, which quite fits the bill actually as it's like listening to Act of Instinct while playing the original C&C. Retro stylish cool.

The campaign is fairly lengthy, and there're tons of interesting cheats which adds fun to the already well-developed game.
