Fun for a while

User Rating: 7 | art of rally PC

Art of Rally is fun and challenging, but after I completed a couple of seasons, I moved on to something else and didn't look back.

With its distinctive art style and graphics, the game stands out from most other racing games, but for some mysterious reason, despite my Afterburner saying I was getting a decent number of frames per second, the game felt choppy. Lowering the graphics on my RTX 3070 laptop didn't particularly help either.

From a gameplay standpoint, Art of Rally tends to lie closer to the simulation side of the spectrum rather than the arcade. That's largely from the way the cars control, and how much damage the car takes when you go off the path or crash into barriers. It's a game that is easy to pick up, but requires effort to master, especially as you unlock faster cars.

After a while, though, it all feels kind of samey.

I'd recommend this game to people who want to try a different kind of racing simulation.
