Activision announced today that it has signed UEP Systems to develop Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder for the PlayStation 2. UEP Systems pioneered the Cool Boarder franchise on the PlayStation. Following in the footsteps of its Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series of video games, Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder will include the same combo system and a list of real-world pro snowboarders.

"In combining top studio and athletic talent, it is our intent to create the definitive snowboarding game for the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system," said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. "The experience UEP Systems brings to the genre is unmatched and will certainly lend itself well to developing the most exhilarating and realistic snowboarding game to date."

No release date was given for Shaun Palmer's Pro Snowboarder for the PlayStation 2. We'll have more news as it breaks.
