Steve Jackson Games announced today that it has reached an agreement with Electronic Arts and Firaxis to develop a tabletop GURPS version of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. GURPS, or the Generic Universal Role-Playing System, has been used to create over 160 books based on various characters and creatures that are included in the system. GURPS Alpha Centauri will let you take control of characters found in Alpha Centauri and place them into a nearly endless variety of scenarios.

Alpha Centauri follows Bungie's Myth as the latest game to make the transition from the PC into the GURPS pen-and-paper universe.
