An official Apex Legends board game is coming from Glass Cannon Unplugged and Genuine Entertainment, in collaboration with EA and Respawn. The game's Kickstarter will launch on May 17.

Apex Legends: The Board Game is a competitive tactics game for 2-4 players, though you can play with more people with planned expansions. You will take the role of a Legend--four distinct Legends are included in the core box--and attempt to eliminate other players or teams over an approximately 60-minute play session.

The game's board or exact format has yet to be revealed, though the press release promises that tactical play is set on a "fully-immersive, three-dimensional environment taken straight from the screen." As in the video game, each Legend will have unique abilities and have access to limited resources that they pick up during play.

The four Legends included in the base set are Wraith, Gibraltar, Bloodhound, and Bangalore. More Legends and a line of modular maps will be available in add-ons and expansions, as part of a roadmap of content for the tabletop adaptation. What maps and legends will be added, and when, has yet to be announced.

Glass Cannon Unplugged, a new board game studio made up of industry veterans, previously created the Frostpunk board game, which launched a Kickstarter last year. It is also working on a Dying Light board game.
