You are not hallucinating. VU Games revealed this morning that Counter-Strike: Condition Zero now has a firm release date of March 23, 2004. VUG also announced a preorder incentive that will reward gamers who pay a preorder deposit of $10 with two separate sets of 10 Condition Zero trading cards. Retailers offering the preorder deal are EB Games, GameStop, Best Buy, CompUSA, Hastings, BBY Canada, Future Shop, Multi-Micro, and Amazon.com.

When Condition Zero finally ships, it will mark the end of one of the most convoluted developments in game history. After being announced in May 2001, the game has gone through four developers and numerous delays. Interestingly, its original ship date was fall of 2002. The Condition Zero news hub chronicles the whole saga, while GameSpot's preview offers a sneak peek at the PC actioner.

Counter-Strike: Condition Zero carries an MSRP of $39.99 and an ESRB rating of M for Mature.
