David Hayter joins The Long Dark
Cast for survival simulation game The Long Dark includes David Hayter.
Renowned video game voice actor David Hayter has joined the cast of adventure game The Long Dark, developer Hinterland has revealed.
The announcement was made on The Long Dark Kickstarter page and did not contain details as to what role he will be playing in the game. Hayter is best known for his contribution to the Metal Gear Solid series as the English voice of Solid Snake, but will not be reprising this role in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Hinterland formed in September this year and is comprised of industry veterans whose experience stems from working at several big-name developers, including BioWare, Riot Games, Ubisoft Montreal, Sony Santa Monica, and id Software.
The studio's debut game, The Long Dark, is a survival simulation game set in an open world beset by a "quiet apocalypse". Hinterland will also integrate "morally challenging scenarios" into the game. At the time of writing, the game's Kickstarter page has 37 hours remaining before donations close.
The Long Dark is being developed for the PC and currently has no release date.
