Disco Elysium, one of last year's best games, is headed to consoles in 2021. During The Game Awards, developer ZA/UM announced Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, which was positioned as a definitive version of the RPG, with new content, voice acting, and more. This will be available on both PC and consoles, although the specific release date will vary by platform.

The Final Cut will initially release in March 2021 for PS5, PS4, Stadia, and PC (through a variety of storefronts, including Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store). It will then arrive for Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch sometime in Summer 2021. More specific release dates were not shared, but existing Disco Elysium owners will get a free upgrade to The Final Cut. A digital version will cost $40 otherwise.

This version of the game will bring new content and improvements to what was already available. In terms of new content, there will be a new area, quests, and characters. Full voice acting is being added, along with controller support, as is to be expected with console versions on the way. The PS5 version will offer 4K and 60fps support; it's unclear which other platforms will also hit those marks.

In addition to the aforementioned digital version, ZA/UM has partnered with iam8bit for a physical collector's edition of Disco Elysium. Set for release sometime in 2021, this will include a premium box, vinyl sculpture, art book, fabric map, and a physical version of the game itself for either PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or Nintendo Switch. It's priced at $250.

Disco Elysium was announced for PS4 and Xbox One shortly after release, and the Nintendo Switch version was promised earlier this year. A TV series based on the game was announced earlier this year, too.

At The Game Awards 2019, Disco Elysium won Best Narrative, Best Independent Game, Best RPG, and Fresh Indie Game. It also earned a rare GameSpot 10/10 review and was one of our best games of the year in 2019.
