E3 2019: Blair Witch Game Announced During Xbox Press Conference
From the Layers of Fear and Observer team.
Microsoft's E3 press conference took a spooky turn with the announcement of a game based on the Blair Witch movie franchise. There's a Blair Witch game in development from Bloober Team, the studio responsible for first-person narrative games Layers of Fear and Observer. The title was revealed with a debut trailer during the Xbox press conference, and you can check its trailer out above.
We don't know a whole lot at this point, but it's set in September 1996, three years before the movie of the same name, in the Black Hills Forest. Blair Witch will release on PC and Xbox One on August 30.
Pre-orders are available now, and Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to play the full game at launch. It's one of a variety of new games coming to the service; several are even launching today, including Batman: Arkham Knight, Hollow Knight, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and Metro Exodus.
Microsoft's E3 press conference brought a lot of news, including the release date of Cyberpunk 2077--and that Keanu Reeves is in the game. Be sure to keep up with all the Microsoft news from E3 2019, and check up all the rest of the press conferences.
